I'm looking for a few tips and some advice on painting my wing mirrors. So, I've bought JDM power folding mirrors to stick on my UK Classic. They are red and my car is 65C reddish blue. I've bought an aerosol made to order and tested it for colour, its a perfect match surprisingly.

The mirrors are all prepped and primed and ready for colour. I want to know can I and should I flatten the colour coat before clear coating it?? I know I'm not going to get a perfect finish but I've always had a damn good finish in the past. Normally though I only ever needed to paint solid colours, no metallics.
