SUBARU Lettering (bootlid)
Hi All, I'd been catching the lettering on my bootlid for a while when cleaning the car and some of the letters were getting a bit tatty/loose.
I used it as an opportunity to debadge it, leaving me with just a pink STI badge by the lock:
I'm not convinced that I like the look though.
If I wanted to obtain new lettering, is there a positioning guide/template available? If I took it to a Subaru dealership, would they deal with it for me?

Can't you clean up and refit the old letters? That's what I did. I used a set of Halfords double sided pads, large ones, put the letter on one sticky side, leaving the waxed paper on the other side, stood it down on a hard surface, (a sheet of glass) and cut round the letter with a new scalpel blade.
To position it, I first put a length of masking tape on the boot lid, ensuring it was level, marked off where I thought the letters should be, and then stuck each down carefully. TBH, a couple of mm each way you can't see it, but it helps to lay them out in the approximate spacing first, and measure approximations from the centre of each letter.
Someone on here will give you a height datum level to work from.

Cheers Alacazar.
My old letters are pretty tatty to be honest, I'd rather replace them or leave it blank than to refit them.
I'm sure I could work out the old positioning from photo's etc, and the masking tape is a good idea

I kinda like the look of mine. Took me nearly 6 hours including the polishing afterwards, the letters were a right b@$tard to remove.

Best way is probably to heat up the letters with a hair dryer or warm water, use dental floss and slowly rub the floss behind each of the letters. Then use bug and tar remover to take the sticky underside off the boot. That's the way I done it anyway .
