Buy some McGuire nxt all metal polish first before you get spraying, also something like autosmarts tar and glue remover to get a lot of baked on rubbish off. That should tidy it all up.

I bought a blitz system second hand and needed a good clean, used the above products and cleaned up very well. I also have a machine polisher so used a soft cut pad and more nxt all metal polish and it really is like new now.

If you do still want to spray, you will need to get proper exhaust spray paint

Got my interest. Can't say I get under my car too often to inspect the aesthetics of my exhaust tho.

You can also get the same results with old fashioned autosol metal polish

The guy is saying his exhaust is dirty and wants to spray it, fair enough if he wants to do that, but with some elbow grease he can have it looking right again, what's wrong with that

If you've got the cash then a coating would be more durable. I've used Camcoat in the past and they are very good. They do a satin black http://www.camcoat.com/main/black-satin/
