i have a blue car but i cant remember the exact tint but its not as dark as limo, i didnt bother with the fronts either, its just asking for trouble.

the only reason i did it really was so the kids cant be seen in the back

Don`t go very black rears with standard fronts cos it looks stupid, like 2 cars stuck together. Tubbytommy`s above looks spot on imo!

i dont like the fronts tinted at all ,causes issues with the police and like you say different colour tints font to rear looks stupid.
i think my rear screen is slightly darker though.

The rear windows on tommy's judging by the look of them are 20% tints ( let 20% of light through )
thats your best tint IMO same as on my civic type r.

I done a training course on how to window tint a little while back so I could tint my car and my friends.

I tinted my audi TT with a 50% tints on the front windows ( 50% is a little bit smoked )
and 5% tints on the rear three ( total black out near enough )
and it looked very nice.

your front windows are usually slightly tinted from the factory so if you put any type of tint on them they are by law illegal and you can get fined and three points for it.

20% tint's are ideal for the rear window's

I would get a pro in to do it tho as its a total nightmare to get right. How they do the rear window is beyond me!

Cheers guys, I've had most my cars tinted all round with a 65% tint which is a light smoke, but today was sunny and the baby was in direct sun even with the cheap shades, I have had a look at some and I'm thinking around 50% shade on side 2 and 30% on back glass so direct sun from rear will be better shaded while side windows not so bad, so on he phone tomorrow to a few decent friends and more importantly the price lol

Razor I hate to tell u but your front windows are illegal mate, go to any road traffic policeman and ask him to use the tintman machine on ur windows, the front glass by laws has to let in 72/4% of light anything lower ie: even with light smoke will lessen the light transmission and if u had a crash u will be in the whiz mate, but please correct me if I'm wrong and I will go to my local police and pash the info on as my last car was light all round and I almost got banned because they tried to say my car was dangerous due to front tints.

as the lads have said the green tint from factory is already at the legal standard so ANY tint on the front will be illegal.

mines are done but as i have a sunroof when i open it the front look much lighter than the back even though there the same all round ,so i never have any probs with cops

They might be buddy. The place that did them in Bury Lancashire near me said there fronts are the legal limit and in 10 yrs they have had no problems or visits from the police. So far so good anyways!

9 times out of 10 if u got light tint u can get away wi it, I guess as long as the copper ain't an *** or just having a bad day, and Tom I love ur reply I'll just open my sunroof lol, but just bear in mind unless it is privacy glass which has the tint injected into the glass at the foundry then u can all fall foul of the law, I was issued with a pg9 I think basically had to take the car straight home remove the tint and have the car mot'd with in 7 days

I had "Dark smoke" recently fitted to my rear windows, which the company that fitted them said was generally regarded as "factory" level of tint for tinted rear windows from the likes of Ford etc.

Haven't had a chance to get any decent pics of it yet but mine is the middle one of the three black scoobs at the bottom of this picture. The one on the left of mine with tints is a JDM Spec C which I think were just a touch darker than mine.

Personally I like at least 50% on the rear sides and 20% rear, when its sunny its still hard to see in the rear- which is what i want.

Although it does make things more difficult on ******* nights.....
