Default De badging help

Hi everyone. I have started debadging by car, I have taken advice off here and used a hair drier and dental floss to remove lettering and have tried the White spirit to remove what's left but doesn't seem to work that well. Any other tips please

I recently did mine, and struggled getting the black glue crap off.....tried all sorts. I tried Megs bug and tar remover, but it didn't seem to do much......But I also sprayed it over the area, but then got busy doing something else, and left it for an hour by mistake. When I went back to it, it wiped off fairly easy to be honest!

Panel wipe is what you need! I'm thinking of marketing it as sticker residue remover!

hi,

i used Farecla G3 cutting compound on mine to get rid of the muck, it will give it a deep shine for you but do the whole boot as you will notice if you don't. then when your done you can use it again to buff the car.

I used the dental floss and hair dryer method and with a bit of elbow grease and a couple of blisters I got all the glue off. I found that White spirit dried out the remnents of the glue and was easy to remove then.

Pop to your local Homebase or B&Q store look for the HG Hagesan range and get a product called "Sticker Remover" this will remove any left over glue.

see post 8.......

Spray on WD40, go and have a cup of tea, dunk a few ginger nuts, go back, wipe off WD40 along with half of the gunk.......spray on more WD40, go back and finish tea, choke on soggy bits of ginger nuts in bottopm of cup, note to self about dunking ginger nuts, go back to car and wipe off WD40 and repeat as necessary substituting rich tea for ginger nuts |

As it's the weekend, swap tea and ginger nuts/rich tea/hobnobs for something in a can and hopefully more than 4% alcohol
