Bodywork preperation

Bodywork preperation
What sort of materials are required for preparing bodywork before a respray? Also what are needed after for flatting etc..?
So far I'm thinking masking paper and tape, etch primer, build primer. What sort of fillers are needed and what grades of sand paper?
I'm after sorting the bodywork and fitting some fibreglass panels that need some slight prep before a respray.
Thanks, Shane.

before sanding make sure the body work is clean remove all dirt wax and grease just use some washing up liquid does the job
sand down all bad parts of body work with some 80 grit, clean and use a filler some u-pol body filler does the job well, sand that down with 80 grit then go over the whole lot with some 180p grit
etch prime any bare metal, then use a high build primer, sand primer with some 400 grit wet
clean spray base then clear, if you want a high shine finish sand clear with 1500 - 2000 grit
then buff panels etc dont forget to blend new paint into old or it will look odd.
hope this helps.
