I need to know this as I need to respray mine after some mug drove in to it and scratched it . I can pm scoobystu but rather than lots of people over time doing this can someone just post a way how to do it if they know.

I could be wrong, but the only way that I've ever heard of to dismantle the mirrors on any car is to get the glass off somehow, so you can get to the screws that hold the swivel-plate to the back-shell. It probably isn't easy to do without cracking the glass though - I would imagine you'd need to try and slip some piano wire behind it, and slowly cut through the sticky-back with that.
A new glass insert is only a few pounds from a spares shop or Ebay, if it does break though.

No screws on mine, two tapered clips at the top & two hook over clips at the bottom from memory, with the top clips released the bottom will unhook as you fold the cover off.
