Default HELP WATER LEAKING IN BOOT AGAIN!!

hi guys. when getting spare wheel out today there was a big pool of water in the well of the boot. this is the second time i've had water leak in boot, other time was after about 2 years of ownership. this was sorted under warranty, subaru said it was leaking under spoiler, apparently there was seal under spoiler and it wasn't fitted properly. ironicly subaru fitted the sti spoiler to my 04 wrx when new and must've done a shoddy job! been great for a few years but now there's a leak again. pissing me off! any advise guys? is this common problem with newage scoobs?

check the boot seal..

i used carafax sealent around the boot seal as thats where mine was coming from. initially thought it was spoiler. but apparently boot seal is common

where did you get the sealant from m8? did you remove seal and put that carafax sealant under seal?

To answer the above two questions first:
Carafax is available from caravan dealers and SOME Halfords. DO NOT use silicone
Yes.

You should also suspect the lights: if you remove some of the interior trim after a good spraying with water from a hose, you MAY see water on the rear of the lights. The cure is to remove the lights and reseat with a good bead of Carafax, (no, I don't work for them),

You can also suspect the spoiler AGAIN, and mine has also leaked through the seal UNDER the rear screen. (The bonding).

A good tip in future is to use the "search" function" on here which would have turned up all this, and more, without waiting for me to get up and type it all AGAIN

HTH.
