Rusty arches .RUB DOWN OR CUT OUT ????....
My car has rusty arches and the paint has bubbled up really bad , ive taken it to a body shop and they have quoted 300 + parts a side , He said they can rub it down but risk it coming back OR cut it out and replace the panel , So the question is ... does anybody know if you can buy replacement panels ??? or should i get a salvage yard to cut the required panel out ??????

years ago I had the arches replaced on a car and it was a terrible finish after wasnt happy at all, if you can get the arches rubbed right down and painted go that route and make sure they seal it, and if poss bake in the oven, if done properly and you protect it after they should be fine

Sounds a reasonable price to me. I tried to get arches for a classic last year. The only option was complete rear quarters. This was around £300 a side just for the quarters, genuine subaru only. We made new sections and welded them in. We charged about £400 per side, including fabricating the arch sections and blending into the rear doors. I'll put some during and after pictures up if someone tells me how!
