Nothing really mate , all the parts for the face lift are a straight fit.

Have a word with Grade A at Hayfield in the High Peak. Can't recommend them highly enough. They often have genuine bumpers in, (not f/glass replicas), and will sell you a kit of all the parts needed. I THINK you might need a grille too, but I could be wrong, they WILL know.

I've ordered stuff from them and it's been here the next day.

I can't tell from your pic, but your car LOOKS as if it's got the earlier headlights, with more rounded inner edges. If so, then yes, you'll need the lights, grille and maybe the bonnet.......

Mine, a UK '98 car registered in August, has the same SHAPE headlights as the later car, only mine WERE normal, ie: NOT crystal, which came in on the '99 car, (they were still cr@p though ) They are now Morettes.

You won't need a new bonnet, grill or light mate you have the face lift ones already. I think the 98s are the only year to have the face lift front end minus the bumper.

That is correct, but it IS possible to have an older car, registered in early 98 with the earlier grille/bonnet/lights. Strictly it's a 97, but the year of registration says not.

Fekkin British weird system.

i have an early my97 an it has face lift already uk scoobs had it from 96 apart from front bumper which changed late 97-98.if you have the later bonnet with swage lines meeting the grill then you have the correct lights as you cant have one without the other at the worst you just need a later spec bumper my98+

I've been thinking of doing this too to my '94 WRX ra track car.
But I'll probably wait until I need to.
Being a track car there's going to come a time when a slower EVO gets in my way and I have to give him a nudge

But DR motorsport sell genuine ones at a good price painted.
I've used them a few times now, for both my track car and my JDM STi road car. Never any problems.
