Default STi8 Bonnet Scoop

Does anybody know if the STi8 bonnet scoop is a direct swop for my STi7 Bugeye? Anybody done it?

Would like one to get the extra air on the tmic.

Cheers,

Nick.

Cheers mate, I did think that just by looking at pictures but though they have the same ic so maybe not.

wwwp8

I looked at both of them and wasnt happy with the differances between a genuine one and either of them. HT Auto's is a good name is fibreglass parts and the scoop will fit perfect and easily but for me, its not just quite right. I've never heard of or experienced JDL so I have no idea what a 'Genuine JDL' products is like

I,ve also been looking for a replacement scoop for my bugeye and looking at the alternatives i,m not convinced they look identical to a genuine sti8.
How much work would be involved to fit a genuine one ?

The origanals take about 5 minutes to remove but if the STi8 one doesn't fit, its not only the big hole for the scoop to let the air through, or the littles hole to bolt it down, its the slight swedge line right round the scoop that lets it sit into the bonnet rather than on the bonnet that will never be right.

Milsport do one but I think (dont quote me here) its the same as HT Auto's scoop,

Milsport STi8 Scoop for Bug

HT Auto's below

JDL Below

They may look great in real life but non of the pictures are doing them justice.

I mean look at HT Autos Classic STi8 scoop, it looks great

I'll still keep looking, I hope that the people mentioned above take this as constructive critism rather than slagging them off because I'm not. I have an HT Auto front splitter on my car and not only does it look good, it fits perfect

I'm not sure but if I've spelt it right, its the curve of the metal around the scoop, you can see it on the DR Motorsport picture, it lets the scoop just sit in nice and neet.

Or were you taking the p*ss

How do I do that? Cant seem to do it.

I've actually contacted them and got some pici's back off them, they look good so I've ordered one but would still like to see some pic's of your car, especialy from the side

Cheers,

Some pici's below that were sent to me, the first three were there own pictures but Tim sourced a picture of a WR Blue STi on the net somewhere and sent that to me also as I asked him for one on a WR Blue bug. Very help fella.

There scoop use's the existing fixing holes and I've been assured the fit is perfect.
