Default Number Plate Advice

Hi, I am new to the forum, and new to Subarus...and I am questiong how I got by without one for all these years.

I am slowly making changes, and I have just got some new alloys.

I am now after a set of show plates, but the choice seems limited. I have seen various plates on the road....but they are always going too fast to ask the driver who made them!

Any advice on where to go?

Cheers

Paolo

remember that 'show ' plates are not legal for road use. It appears to be uncommon for police t make a stop solely for that reason, but ultimately it would be an endorsable ofence to use them

I've just got some plates from Dubmeister. They are the German looking ones, made of metal and the letters stood out. They are fantastic quality and i had them within 24 hours or ordering them

Look like this,

Gav..

I agree with you in many ways Alc....but..looking at the it the other way:...How easy should it be for scum to put false plates on your pride and joy?....
I had a plate fall off ( and disappear) the other day and had no option but to nip to halfrauds and get new ones. I was quite impressed. They comply with the BS in that they have all the markings, but those are all in white lettering on the back of the perspex, so they are virtually invisible, therefore no embarassing 'I shop at halfrauds' giveaway.. Way to go , big 'H'.........

Well, well, well, Halfords come good. Whatever next?

Think I'll go out tomorrow and put £50 on Scun. Utd to win the FA cup

You could always try GT Graffix....

GT Grafix makers of registration plates and vehicle graphics

I have seen some very nice 3d carbon plates made by these guys.

Default Sorry to butt in

I thought that the Makers name etc... had to be on a number plate if the Number plate/ car is NEW??

as ive also got a 1969 vw beetle, & im not paying another £30 for new plates just so the MAKERS NAME ETC... can be on it??

Also my current number plates on my SCOOBY dont have any marks/makers name etc... on them, Not once been questioned been on car 3 years now.

Default my number plate nightmare

Hi, im a newbie and bought some plates from a site that turned out to be a right nightmare.
pimpmyplate. com
This was in September.

this is only my personal opinion and from my experience, but there service sucks i am now on my 3rd wrong plate but i need to use them as it needs to match my rear plate, you can never get them on the phone, and they tried to tell me it was there good nature that they sending me replacements at no extra cost to myself.
huge cheek in my opinion. they refunded me with a apology but i simply wasnt happy

Had to buy some plates for a car at work recently and used fancyplates.com, they took about 2 weeks to come through which I thought was a bit too long...especially when the site said they would be posted next day delivery!

On the subject of show plates, anyone know if you can buy white replica JDM plates? Obviously they wouldn't be anywhere near legal for road use, was just thinking for when parked up at shows etc
