You can have any shade of tint from the b-pillar back although i have had the fronts done aswell, you should be looking at about £250-300 and I've them done on a few cars and never had them scratch.

there is currently 2 laws about tints that the police use. One states NO tints are allowed forward of the b-pillar and another states they are okay as long as the only stop 30% of the light. The rest of the car can be as dark as you wish.
So if you get the fronts done, a police officer can stop you and ask you to remove them. Tiniting companies may even get you to sign a disclaimer when you get them fitted.

I believe you can have the fronts upto a 30% tint which if your car came with tinted windows as standard is very near the limit anyway.

The law has JUST changed recently!

It used to state that your FRONT side windows had to allow in 75% of light.

The law now states that you front side windows CANNOT be tinted other than the slight tint that they are produced with by the manufacturer! Just found that out on my SVA test. The British Deapartment of Transport Official even showed me the the Rules. A friend who is a serving British Police Officer just confirmed this, and stated that this has just been brought into effect!

I had my side Tints, which were only 25%, ripped off by the official! Now I have my side windows covered in glue!
