Tree sap!!
...is it easy enough to remove from car bodywork?
Thing is i dropped my (previously)prestine STi off for a service this morning at a main dealers.
only to return home after picking it up,some 200 odd pounds lighter and notice that said car was completely plastered in bluddy tree sap
Cheers, Main Dealer

Bit of a pain in the backside but it just requires a bit of elbow grease.
Wash with a good shampoo,chamois dry,and wax.
I find 'Simoniz bug & tar remover' is best for getting off any stubborn stains, and it works as a polish too.

Bug and Tar remover should eat it.... Another technique is neat screen wash... Gets it off real good... Try not to get the neat screen wash on the window though (same applies with tar remover)... But if its on the windows just go for it...

I was rather hoping it would come off with hot water, car shampoo and extreme minimal effort
'cos if it doesn't, Mr main dealer will be having it back first thing on Monday morning:raging mad:
...I thought as a courtesy service, they might have given it a bit of a rinse and vacuum before handing the car back in the first place!

Panic over chaps!
I've just driven up the M27 through a fairly major downpour and most of the sap carnage has been 'magically' washed away
as Ron pointed out..probably due to the three inch thick layer of Swissol on it,lol

Mine was like that. Just washed it before, and the dealer mentioned how it had just finished with 'the valeter'. It was caked on!
I also live next door to a guy with two 18m high conifers, which overhang my car, and recently found my right hand side really bumpy. Wouldn't come off with hot water and shampoo either. So I've gone and got some clay, which better work.
