Angry

I recently brought a brand new Saxo VTR in black and somthing has ruined the paint on my roof! I think it may have been some sap from a local tree but now I don't know what to do? anyone know where I stand with citroen? none of our other cars have ever been affected?

Cheers

Andy

You probablt have a 3 year paint warranty and 7 year anti rust warranty. Clean it and give it a good polish, so that there are no traces of sap on the car. Take it back and complain loudly. You will probably have difficulty getting them to respray as black is mega difficult to blend, so the whole roof will need sprayed

Thumbs up

Go to the dealer first. If you get no joy from him go to Citroen UK

You're not wrong!!

I had to have the roof of my car resprayed, it took them 3 attempts to get it right

If they do respray it, I'd recommend you ask them to take the windscreen out when they do it. This will enable them to get the paint right up to the edge of the roof which should make sure it looks like a factory finish!

MMMMMM black difficult to blend....

You cant get the staff these days.

No colour is difficult to blend if the painter can do his job properly!!

anyway why would you want to blend a roof when you can just mask and paint the full thing!!

people do struggle and make life hard for themselves!!!

I dont think tree sap can damage paintwork anyway! unless its the sort of tree that glows in the dark!!!!

what has actally happened to your roof??

Cool

Timo - my hero. I would enter into a massive debate about prevalence of light and dark reflection, etc etc, but i don't feel that the statement
'No colour is difficult to blend if the painter can do his job properly' asks for any reply other than to show it is a tautology.
Quantum mechanics is simple if you are a clever quantum mechanic.
Does this mean quantum mechanics is simple?

(Also in Pi$$ take maode, as always)

Timo, the lacker has come off in certain places and looks like stone chips. In some areas the paint has cracked and started to flake I will try and take a photo if I can

Cheers all

Hi Peeps,

My roof on my scooby MY00 copped bird droppings the day I bought it. I washed it the next day. It washed off, but it left a stain. I polished the area and waxed it and it improved it. Now you can slightly see it from some angles only.

My question is, can I claim from Subaru to get the roof sprayed?

The colour is WRC blue (sonic blue).I did not think I could claim but after seeing this thread,I may have a chance.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Hey fast bloke....

Quit the clever sh)t!!!! LOL

All I know is make good money from my job as a painter and i dont really have any problems with blending any colours....Especially solid colours like black, red, white etc.

OK you are correct about wot u say but at the end of the day it aint that hard!!

You have all seen a red acr at night under a street lamp with one panel looking a totally different colour to the next! and hey presto in day light it looks perfect!!!
Now would a painter paint the car in the dark??? No so what do you do!
Dont get me started on paint pigment, drop coats and blending cos i would hate to be MUPPETIZED!!!!! LOL
Bird sh)t on your paint is bad news. some will do a warrenty claim but as already adviced go and see them!

106 if your saxo is new then it will be a definate claim...get back to your dealers.

Keep laughing people

Tim
