Pimp tint question
#5
........problems do not seem to be with the law, more the insurance companies!
My car is just like catalunya199's above. IT was purchased from UK Subaru dealership and was an ex MY02 WRX demonstrator. It was fitted with Subaru factory fitted tinted windows.
Being 37yrs old, NCD blah blah I insured it. Told the insurance company unmodified vehicle and had factory fitted alloy wheels, tinted glass etc, no further questions.
Three months later wife has a bump. Since then the insurance underwriters have spent the last two weeks arguing that the tinted windows were a modification, illegal and therefore tried to void the insurance cover!!! ANyways we've resolved the whole mess now so if you do go the tinted window route double check with the insurance company. Great at taking your premium and even better at not trying to payout when you make a claim.
