Would like one for MY93 WRX

In the meantime can I remove the silver chicken-wire type mesh or will that leave my IC fins at the mercy of small birds (of the feathered variety) and stones?

Could I mount the mesh on the underside of the scoop instead?

I want that black hole look!

Nothing. Standard set up is the "black hole" look.

No direct protection as such, although I suppose the scoop itself does afford some indirect protection from larger items/objects due its height. (STi8 owners are obviously excluded from this statement )

Generally, you'd want to allow as much unmolested airflow into the intercooler as possible and as such most people live with a few bent fins rather than provide protective mesh.

There's a pic of a mesh guard which fitted directly over the intercooler which I saw on a thread recently. I'll just pop off and see if I can find it.......

Wink

My big scoop is great for collecting leaves and litter.
I also think it costs me at least 2 MPG.
