Dave

Not bought any but they look quite promising. Have you asked for details like which models they fit and whether brackets are supplied/needed.

emails from company

HI

The mudflaps are for the old shape impreza and the new impreza wrx 2002
model

Thanks

Paul Davenport

Hi

They should fit the STI version as well as looking at the two cars there
doesnt seem to be much differance down where the flaps need to go ( is yours
a road or competition car) If they didnt fit its no problem to take them
back from you as long as they were as recieved from us

Thanks

Paul Davenport

Useful info Dave.

Your man doesn't comment on brakets or fixings and whether they are needed/supplied. Some photos would be really good.

In any case are you buying a set Dave?

Dave

I never really could look at the picture you sent properly except in preview mode. I would not drill my wings but you may not need to. If they also fix to the wheel arch then double-sided tape may do the job. The previous IM mudflaps I had fixed in this way. All that would be required is to blank the holes. I guess I would give them a go if I could return them for a refund if I'm unhappy with the fit. Basically if they are properly moulded to the shape of the wheel arch they will be far superior to any of the cut-from-sheet types I have seen to date.

Guys, a company called Kay-Dee Engineering will supply you 4 pre-cut pieces of mudflap material in various colours for under £20!!

You can easily make up the alloy strips or make cardboard templates and pick up on existing fixing points. I've fitted a blue set to my rally prep Mini and the quality, colour is excellent. I've seen the pukka STi ones and they fade in colour.
Simply add STi or Subaru decals if you wish.

Unfortunately I've no piccies at the moment but hopefully get some soon.

If Andy has the details we may have to try a group buy with this one and on some STi stickers, but it sounds good to me.

Gents, I've got the companies details at home, I'll post on this thread tonight. They also do more expensive material but the stuff I got is nice a flexible and is 3mm thick. It looks exactly like the Subaru Mudflaps. I've seen the pukka ones fitted and the alloy straps go right over and pick up in the inner wing which means drilling new holes. I wouldn't fancy doing this as a starter for rust but instead drilling into the plastic inner wing liner and also picking up on the std hole positions on the outer edge of the wing. I would make the mudflaps slightly smaller on the inside and maybe not stick out too much on the outer side.

I did think about making templates from the std Subaru plastic mudflaps which I have fitted at the moment but I can't convince myself to go for the full rally look.

I think the colours they supply are black, blue & red.

If you want to make exact copies the sizes are detailed on the Ravensblade website (USA) with other DIY Scooby mods. These are for the MK1 Scooby but the newer version should be similar.
