As above, has anybody ever had their arches rolled and if so what was the outcome?

I have a jap import, just gone past 3 years old and the arches were covered in surface rust. Instead of having them resprayed, they were cut back and then the rest rolled and filled to stop any road grime getting behind there and putting me back to square 1.
This was my personal preference though, so depends on your reasons for getting it done.
