Trying to find some tough mesh for my Intercooler opening.
The Ripspeed/Halfords stuff is a little flimsy, as is the B&Q Mesh.
The only thing that comes close is the proper builders' stuff used for re-inforcing plaster wall corners, but I can only find it in narrow strips.

Any ideas?

I can get hold of some stainless steel wire mesh.
Its not cheap, but comes in either 22/44"x7"(£30/£45), 55"x8"(£55), or 40"x12"(£65), its pricey but not as flimsy as the aluminium stuff from Ripspeed etc, and you shouldn't get any stone dents in it.

 

I'm also after some mesh - the halfords stuff aint really big enough to do grill and splitter area

Defo interested, need to measure my area tomorrow

 

I have a woven stainless steel mesh that i had made for the front 'mouth' of my MY97.

Not sure yet if i *really* want to sell it, all i know is that it wasn't cheap

I have had it powder coated in satin black as well.

Just a thought. Has anyone tried B&Q, Wickes etc? I know they sell mesh and it will probably be cheap

 

go round u local scrap metal merchants u can scout round 4 weeks but i will bet u will get some and they wont charge u or go to a process firm or foundry they will sought u if u cant get any give me u size and i will get u some 4 free u pay pp ok!
