Question

doing a touch of colour coding and wish to take these off to paint, how is it done?, done a few searches and people reckon to leave them on the car and paint them, but surely they can be removed?

Yes they can be removed.
There are push in type clips underneath at the rear, and a screw/bolt at the front. Theen the whole thing slides off towards the rear. Not easy to get it to move though.
The plastic doesn't like paint, so use the right primer.
