help wanted please-how to remove front grill below bumper one?

i have a MY01 wrx and was going to fasten some mesh on the lower part of grill to protect the radiator and air conditioning radiator- how do u get the lower one of tho the one that is black as standard-i cant see how it fixes-tried pulling it but bumper was just flexing and didn't want to pull any harder case i broke something.Can anyone help me as it was my weekend job to do this-thanks

Its moulded into the bumper..so its a hacksaw job.

DON'T hacksaw it off!!!
You can fit the mesh ON TOP of the existing stuff, you can't see it once it's done, you CAN go back to original if you want, and you can fasten the new mesh onto the old with twisted pieces of copper wire, enamelled is best, and, twisted from behind, is completely invisible from more than 6 feet away!
Believe me, I've done it, AND it saves loads of work/time etc.
