Default Rust on wheel arches

I got a 12 year old WRX impreza sportswagon that's in good nick apart from the emergence of some rust along the seam of the wheel arch. Any suggestions on how best to treat it. I had it all undersealed a couple of years ago and the rust is obviously coming in through the seam. Cheers Chris

Cut it out and replace with new metal and a whole lot of rust prevention sealant but when the job is being done you have to make sure that the area and even the air is dry so not a job for the winter unless a dehumidifier is used because any bit of moisture getting back in there will just cause it to come back through

I went to a bloke who restores classic cars rather than use the panels that you can buy which would probably be overkill on that bit of rust and he cut it all out and then fabricated replacement bit....it was far more expensive than panels but my rust was a lot mor eserious than that
