To reverse scoop or not?

To reverse scoop or not?
Never liked the regular scoop, however now I've gonever and reversed it I'm not sure I like it either!
Anyone fancy a swap?
Amazing service from ETS Racing though, made to order and delivered within a week. Perfect fit too, which considering the other grp parts I have had before is rare!

The late, great Harvey smith did extensive tests with these, and found that whatever was fitted other than a scoop, underbonnet temperatures rose to an unwanted level.
He advised against fitting one, except for time attack etc, where the car runs flat out, then rests. Road use was out, apparently.

Id say it is quite effective at dissipating heat compared to the scoop, considering i can physically see the heat leaving the engine bay with this opposed to the scoop keeping it in?
Considering my scoop adds no benefits what so ever not having a TMIC etc that seems some what odd....

Harvey's been dead now some years, I don't have the documentation, although HE probably would have had.
But if Harve said it, that's good enough for me. He wasn't given to making pronouncements, he always did his research and tests first.
His point was that your reverse scoop/grille was OK when the car was at rest, but not much use when in motion.
Sorry, but that's what he found.
As ever, your car, your choice.

To be honest the ecu monitors air temperatures, oil temperature has not increased since fitting the vent, removing the oil modine definitEly means the car gets up to temperature quicker though
