Default American Football - any fans?

Any of you out there? Who's your team and why did you choose them?

I'm a New Orleans Saints fan purely because I support Saints (Southampton) over here and always used to choose them when playing Madden on the Sega Megadrive

New England Patriots are the team I like to look out for. Usually watch the Sunday evening games. Once you get your head around the rules it's a top game.

I've always kept an eye out for Washington Redskins as I supported them when I was a kid. My other friends were Maimi Dolphins and Chicago Bears fans. I used to collect American Football mugs too. That was over 20 years ago and I think I've still got them in my attic. I don't watch much now, but me and my mates watch the yearly ritual that is the Superbowl. We get loads of beer and snacks in, then stumble home about 4 in the morning when its finished!

Its on Sunday the 3rd of February. Me and the boys have been watching it every year since 2004 and we have a great laugh. I've booked the 4th off work though. I'm never getting up at 5:10 in the morning. I'll be just getting into bed then!!

From what I can see it's a series of adverts that are interrupted by some sort of football game. It's a shame really because the adverts are very exciting.

Nothing like the Superbowl, last few times we've spent the evening getting slightly inebriated in Walkabout usually listening to people who have no idea about the sport......always quite amusing the drunken confused remarks people make! As said above though, get your head around the rules and its ace!

Went to a game in the States about 20 years ago and I'll never forgive them for it.

4 hours of bum numbing "entertainment" during which the "game" very occasionally flickered into brief life in between constant offense/defence/ player changes and, of course, words from our sponsors...

Oh, and full of enormously fat Americans stuffing their faces and drinking **** beer.

Never again

same for basket ball, match live bores the crap out of me cos of the times outs and adverts etc, but if you can fast forward those i do enjoy it.

Fan here.

Hoping for a Harbaugh vs Harbaugh Superbowl.
The 49ers will make it to New Orleans, the Ravens have a tough game ahead.

What I found strange this season (besides the first few games, with those 2nd line
referees) is that none of the big teams of the last seasons even made it to the semifinals(GB) or even postseason(PIT/NO)

When i was in Florida during December one of the main news headlines and discussion was the NFL player who shot his partner dead in front of their young daughter. Then he went to the training ground and shot himself dead in front of his coach and the owner of the team.

I played for a few years whilst at university, loved it.

Got to see the Giants (my team) play when I was in NY a few years back. Misses didn't have a clue but I loved it

The rules and tactics are one of the things which for me makes me love the game, but also is one of the reasons it's not that popular over here in Europe.

I'm a back Patriots fan and have been to the last couple of International series games at Wembley which I thoroughly enjoyed. I wasn't sold on the game until I really studied the rules but once you have a grasp of the basics it's excellent.

I played 4 years at uni level (derby) and 2 year senior for the Watford cheetahs. Looking to join nottingham ceasers this season. Mostly play WR but have had the odd occasion at qb, would love to play TE but need to put the weight on.

I am also lucky enough to have worked on the wembly game last year. I was there for a week setting up the pre-game lighting for the band at the start and the pitch side ones so spent most of the game on the rams bench, literally. Am penciled to do the 2 games this year to I'll dig some pics out.

One NFL fan over here! Last season I suported Falcons and in Super Bowl ravens was my favourite. Totally fell in love with the sport since I first wached superbowl when 13yrs old. I have been wanting to start playing myself aswell but used to play basketball in Finlands top level so never got the time for that and now I spent my time on scoobys
