Thumbs up Man City to finish top of the league

Anyone think different?

I have a shiny 1 pound coin that says they will.

Any takers?

As a United fan, it does pain me to admit that Sh!tty look more likely to finish top this year.

United does have a tougher end of season run of games. Spurs tomorrow could be tricky.

It'd be boring if we won it every year. We'll give Sh!tty their trophy this year, then take it back next.

Tevez it a 42 Carat cvnt.

We [Man City that is] should get rid of him.
We don't need him
We dont't want him
We don't like him

He's a perfect buy for the Rags - the Derby's would be electric!

I'm still undecided about which would be more unbearable, the smugness of the City fans should they win it, or the constant whinging about bent officials should they throw it away

I didn't used to mind City fans, but over the past couple of years all the ones I know have proven to be just as big a bunch of obnoxious w@nkers as their neighbours, turns out the only difference is the shirt colour

This^^^ yes indeed.

Was what I said when the Premiersh1te was first mooted.

Has proved to be so true.

I now have no interest in any football above the Championship, might as well play "Football manager".

How true. When Blackburn won the Prem back in the day, it spelt the end for football as we knew it.
The worst thing is, back a few years when Ashley Cole took up the diving, he was roundly criticised by all and sundry for it. These days it seems to just be accepted. What happened for people to accept it as a part of the game? Sad.

Absolutely.

The SAME player for Sheff Utd has done the SAME trick on us TWICE this year, home and away.

Goes in for a 50/50 challenge, goes down screaming and writhing, ref instantly red-cards our player, he then gets up and runs off.

Cheating SCUM.

United were always breaking transfer records before that. They were the club accused of throwing money around to buy league titles.

EDIT - WOW I just heard AVB has gone.

Yeah, but that Blackburn team was a product of the new 'buy yourself a title' Premiership. No matter how much I can't stand United either, I can now see they tried to do it the right way with a mixture of homegrown youth and some money thrown in for good measure, but with a strict wage structure(then, not now!!).

I am surprised AVB has lasted this long, that is now officially the worst job in football. My opinion is that the players freewheeled to get him the sack.

Blackburn still got there with some fairly journey-men players or cheap players like Colin Hendry who City got rid of a few years eariler, and Mark Atkins, Tim Sherwood etc, hardly 'Gallacticos'. They spent big on Shearer, how how much was Sutton? Not that much I think?

To be honest with you, its still too early to call, there are 10+ games left, Arsenal have been in the same position where they were well out in front with 6 games left and lost out to Man U, it will be a close call but I dont think City will do it, actually im pretty sure they wont.

Blackburn got there thanks to great players! They had passion, they were hungry for it! Shearer and Sutton was banging them in.

Tim Flowers was the most expensive keeper in Britain at the time I think, Batty was pricey, Ripley was a record signing for them, Shearer as you say was pricey, I'm sure Sutton cost more than Shearer though, not galacticos as they are imagined today, but the squad was pretty much assembled in the year before they won their title for a lot of money for the time. You have to remember it was twenty years ago and 5 mil for a player was the record in our country at that time.
I think Lentini was the world record transfer at that time, but that was a bit of money laundering and a bit of we will buy him so no-one else can.

The difference between United and City is that United bought 1 big money player a season. City have bought a new team each of the last 2 seasons.

Same as Chelsea. They were buying any player United showed any interest in, just to stick them on the bench. City have done the exact same thing for the last 2 years.

I would expect a few players to want to leave City by the end of the season. Yes they're on £130,000 a week, but they ain't playing. Some are obviously happy with that, but others won't.

Having been shown a Chelsea players contract (someone who played for them a couple of seasons ago) you wouldn't - I don't think - be surprised that they throw stupid amounts of cash at the players to succeed. The individual player bonus for winning the Champions League especially is bordering on criminal....shows how important it is for RA to win it.....and yet he hasn't.

Hmmm I seem to remember Sutton being a record signing at the time.

Then he went to Chelsea and joined a long list of failed strikers

On the scale of CFC striking failures where does Torres come compared to Robert Fleck ???
