Yep, following it avidly

We need to win this one too - 3-1 is so much better than 2-1 or God forbid 2-2

Yeah, please no 2-2.

Can you imagine how the Aussie press would put their spin (lol) on it, in trashing Eng's achievement of retaining 'em?!

Don't bear thinking about.

The Aussie press are no worse than ours, but I takle your point

Looks like we're having a bowl first so let's see what happens.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that. Just that's the way press are.

I just want us to win this match, so as to keep them suppressed and muted, etc.

C'mon lads, let's do thiiiiis!!

Folling it on BBC website authored by one Ben Dirs.

This gem came up:

0028 Commentary

The following are actual excerpts from an email recently found in the BBC website's general inbox:

Dear Sir/Madam

I was disgusted recently to discover my eight-year-old daughter reading the BBC's ball-by-ball cricket commentary, authored by one 'Ben Dirs'... this is the sort of puerile joke I thought the BBC would be above... the kind of thing I would expect to find in The Sun... I shan't be reading again...

Yours sincerely, Mr R Robinson

PS. If indeed that is his real name, please send my condolenses.

lol ^^^

Watson and Hughes are actually batting like openers should do, so far. They've refrained from going after everything outside off stump. Fair dos to them.

Much to my chagrin though.

2-2 would mean you can't say either side is better.
Best go for the draw, eh?

134 for 4

Christ I hope we win, Aussies were a nightmare when they won in Perth

But when we trashed them at Adelaide and MCG they just revert to type......."Yeah but we were better than you for the last 15 years".

True but we still thrashed yer by an innnings and a bit in the two tests

That would keep 'em quite cos they only sing when they're winning.

Looking to get back to Brissie soon loved the place but work took me to Sadelaide. Need to get out from here quick.......when the rain stops

In fact up there in Jan but only for 5 days visiting mates and drinking in town

When I went to bed they were 46 for none. Bit worrying because there was no sign of a breakthrough. 134 for 4 is a lot better.

We can only keep our fingers crossed. I really hope that they can win this last one because it means that they have not only retained the Ashes, but won them as well.

I'm quite content that the Aussies dine out on their, not insignificant, past glory days...

Meanwhile, I'm more than happy to dine out on England's current form and the fact that we've won 3 of the last 4 Ashes series and look to be an ever improving team...

280 was generous given they were 189-8!

Going strong 167 for 3. Can't really fault Trott's overall performance.

Disappointing that the Aussie tail enders turned on the style. However they have said that the pitch has dried out and is now ready for batting.

C'mon England don't let me spend the next two year's getting grief.

Having played extremely well I thought England fielded badly against the tail. Too defensive and not enough pressure on Johnson.

Mind you Johnson gave it all back again with some rubbish bowling.

Gutting that 'we let 'em' get an extra 91 runs from when it was 189-8! Why oh why did we have to 'chase' those last 2 wickets?

That annoying period could be the clincher... So just gotta hope Cook, Colly, etc. can carry it on for us. If we can scramble to 150+ lead then we're very much in the driving seat again.

Well done though to the Straussy for setting the tone of the innings, with his fab 60 from 58 *****...

Speaking of **** - has anyone been watching the SA v. India match. The camera is obsessed with finding super fit, bikini totty in the bleachers!

And they are very good at it!
