The Ashes Thread
1st warm up game starts tomorrow and we're running out of time for our batsmen to find form, choose a team and the bowlers to avoid injury.
Australia are on a run of bad form, not getting on well and Merv Hughes.....MERV HUGHES has been sacked
It's in the bag boys
Cook to be man of the series, you know it makes sense

Excitement is building, Aussies look like losing another one dayer, Clarke has had a major falling out with team mates, and of course they only have a couple of world class players left.
It all bodes well
I must admit to being a little pee'd off that I'm not actually there......

I didn't and It's not !!!!
Hence the Pee'd off bit (you dont usually see those smileys side by side do you)
Wife was struggling being away from her family, she became pregnant again (yes it is mine) and it just accentuated her home sickness.
Horrible decision for me to make as I loved it there and I would have been at the MCG on the 26th Dec, my mate had the tickets come through a few weeks ago and decided to rub my nose in it but not as much as I will rub his in it when we smash them .
Getting used to being back here now (it took 4 months although I'm not entirely over it lol), but it's good to be back sport wise but overall the reasons I left the UK remain and I still know I had a better life out there.
But as they say, happy wife happy life

I tell you they are falling to pieces, I think McGrath has got it right this time it will be 5-0, to England.
You have to see the failed run out, hillarious, Clarke is no more than 6 feet from the stumps and ends up hitting Watson bang on the knee cap
Clarkes face is a picture, Watson then turns round and properly coats him off, his popularity is falling by the day.

I'd jump at the chance to work abroad, but just know my wife would never be happy so once the buzz had worn off, I'd be in the same boat.

Cost me grands but no regrets, glad I did it rather than sit here saying what if in 20 years time.

Well that's the first warm up game over and done with, a nice easy win to let them know we mean business.
Bell astounds his critics by actually scoring higher in the 2nd innings, a feat he's never managed before

A pretty good knock by the team again. We seem to have breezed our warm up games and most people have found form at the right time, although Bell has peaked to early the ginga ***.

How can you call Siddle a journeyman ? He was their Spearhead up until 10 months ago, he only lost his place because through injury and the selectors believing Johnson and Bollinger are better bowlers, Bollinger might be just, but Johnson aint, most overated fast ozzie since Dizzy imo.
Early days, very green track cant see the aussies getting anywhere near 400, all to play for and the Gabba is always better from day 2 onwards, that said the recent rain in Brizzy hasn't helped, maybe day 3

It's heading for a draw which as much as we could ask for after the 1st innings.
Looks like the Aussie heads have dropped, they know they've lost the impetus now, only 4 more matches left to win the 'urn back.
Actually feeling a bit emotional right now, must be the lack of sleep
The boys have dug deep and are doing brilliantly

Who's the new opener , Cook or something like that
Good to see Johnson have another miserable test, the tosser
Fancy the Aussie's preparing a pitch for a result , hopefully Adelaide will have a result in it.
