FIFA "to ban headers"
A FIFA source has admitted publicly for the first time that they are carrying out an investigation into the effects of possible brain damage caused by repeated heading of a football. Apparently FIFA has been made aware of potentially massive insurance claims being made against their member associations.
The source told the Daily Mail: "following lengthy investigations, we have determined that the average IQ of a top-flight professional footballer is on a par with that of a baboon. The effects of repeated heading of the football cannot be ignored. Indeed the players who appear to have the lowest intelligence are those who perform the most headers, such as central defenders. In your country this includes players such as Rio Ferdinand and John Terry. There is now serious concern about the recent behaviour of Wayne Rooney as well. We have been advised by our legal team that, FIFA and our national Associations could be made liable for long-term psychiatric care, once the playing careers of these players come to an end. Alternatively, we could be forced to find them a pundits job on Channel 5".
Let's hope common sense prevails this time!
