What do you think of your nearest rivals?
I'm a Liverpool fan. So;
Man Utd.
Brilliant to watch. All the cash, but no class.
Arsenal.
Again, when on song, brilliant to watch. Manager can be an ****. " I didn't see it " etc
Chelsea.
Wouldn't go if it was free. I find their football boring, and their attitude stinks.
All IMHO of course.
Anyone else care to 'fess up?

United fan
City - a nothing team for many a year but had to take notice of them this season due to results, style of play and the defeats suffered at their hands
Liverpool - boring to watch. Full of average players with only 2 stand out players of note in Gerrard and Torres.
Leeds - Funny to see their demise but in a way would like to see them back in the Prem for the rivalry.
Arsenal - Some class players and often play great football but they're as dirty as any team yet claim they're always sinned against which makes them look small time.

Man Utd Fan myself.
Liverpool
Have had a few good players, Torres being one of them and good to see them doing well in Europe even if they dont do much at home and even when we arent doing so well. Dislike their fans as they think they are better than they really are and just spend 90% of the time living in the past. Just not consistent enough to win the Premieship. Im still not sure of Gerrard. I cant make my mind up if hes just has flashes of brilliance or if the lower standard of players around him affects his ability to make an impact.
Chelsea
Some once great players but for some reason they never seem to shine in full which leads to boring football and many ground out 1-0 wins. Certainly not the neutrals team of choice. Joe Cole is one of my fave and he never plays. Drogba I hate due to his diving antics and Terry overrated IMHO.
Arsenal
By far the better out of our rivals to watch. Used to love watching Henry in action. Fabregas is often compared to Ronaldo but totally different players. Fabregas is more like Scholes with an excellent eye for a throughball. If I had to pick which team I preferred then Arsenal would be it.
Simon
P.S. BTW what counts as class as Im really struggling to think of what the other 3 have over us that counts as class?

Man Utd and Arsenal do play the best football, have to agree.
Everton seem to be having a good season without having any big names.
Thats it out of our nearest rivals

Chelsea - currently showing what a great manager Jose is, had them well organised, difficult to break down, playing as a unit. He instilled the everyone against you mentality which seems to cause issues when things don't go their way. Genuinly talented but can't pick one player I'd really have in United's first 11, however different answer two years ago.
Arsenal - Great side, fantastic flowing football, seem to have sorted the one dimensional forward platy that I think they suffered from with just Henry up front. Fabregas, great potential, will be a big star. Solid players such as Hleb, Flamini and Gallas. Hated them so badly in the days of Keown, Viera etc but not so much now. Interestingly out of the so called big 4, the side I'd pick to play against first, I think the way United play makes it very difficult for them.
Liverpool - Really looking forward to 26 years Some of my best mates are pool fans, but also some of the nastiest pr1cks I know too. Always look for their result, and dread playing them, so they are still a big team IMO, someday someone will get it right there, I just hope Rafa does ok, he's not good enough to win the league so I don't want him sacked.
City - I grew up in North Wales, the rivalry was Liverpool and not City in the eighties so as someone not born and bred in Manchester I don't get the rivalry like others undoubtedly do.
Leeds - Ditto City.

good thread
Old school Arsenal fan...so I'll do this in order of proper rivalry...
Spurs (god that was hard to type properly)
Most of my mates are spurs fans, god I hate them, used to get loads more stick back in the 80's but that rivalry has been dulled over the last 10 years...to the extent where there is almost no real banter between me and my friends anymore. (wenger ) On the one hand I'd like to see them relegated but on the other hand there is something more exciting about having a proper rival back so "good" to see them showing serious potential again.
Chelsea
There's only one team in London, stick your blue flag... No class, a passing comet in football's night sky, hope they fade and burn, never met a nice chelsea fan, can't stand them...and their football is dreadful, I would draw the curtains in they were playing in my garden.
ps - sold out to foreigners
Man U
Quality club, quality team, brilliant players to watch over the years, cantona, giggs, scholes, and now ronaldo, really enjoy watching them play, almost as good football as Arsenal (almost but not quite but probably more effective), however you have a **** of a manager and was dissappointed that you sold out to a yank. proper club brought down by the fact that every 15 yr old in berkshire supports them and they always seem to be after the £.
(anither big club sold out)
Liverpool
Classy old club with unrealistic fans. got a few mates who support them (i'm from London and in my mid 30's so they were the manu of that generation..older glory hunters..) and they ALL go on about how many titles they've won...wake up and smell the roses.
as for their football, again, draw the curtains...
ps - another club sold out to foreigners.
everyone takes the **** that Arsenal have no english players but we are the last of the big 4 to still be english in ownership.

Man U Fan here:
Liverpool - a deluded fanbase one step away from Geordyism in terms of their belief that they are/deserve to be successful. Two quality players keeping them in the top 6 this season. Pure comedy that the fans blame the yanks for their demise and not Mr Rotation himself - Rafa but from my point of view, the longer he personally helps drag them backwards the better.
Chelski - Just goes to show how overrated Mourinho was. Grant has issues with some of the pri-madonnas there now because "the special one" signed them and now they want out. I despise John Terry - much overated Terry Butcher wannabe, always trying to be the iconic martyr, who's behaviour with referees is a disgrace. Joe Cole is a cheat. Frank Lampard is horrifically overated. Boring to watch.
Arsenal - Manager is incredibly talented, finding players no-one else knows about, making a team of average players (in many cases) play very well together. Graceful in victory, ungraceful in defeat. The only threat to the title.
God bless Man U.

QPR Fan
Chelsea - QPR for people with not much money
Brentford - Not even worth mentioning
Fulham - See you in The Championship next year.
And yeah, Arsenal and Man Utd are streets ahead in terms of entertaining football - I would pay to go and see them play.

Go on then
Salford Utd - Impressive footballing consistency and ability to grind out wins with one outstanding player and lots of average ones. The McDonalds of the Premier League. Let down by so-called fanbase of bitter, classless, spiteful, smug, clichéd, west country filth with delusions of grandeur. Recent successes gone to their oversize heads so much that they fail to recognise and appreciate the achievements of their rivals. No history, no class.
Chelsea - Temporary stay in the top half of the table until Roman gets bored and leaves. Dull as dishwater to watch. Amazing how many fans have recently appeared from the woodwork in recent years. The preferred club of 8 years olds.
Arsenal - Wenger certainly has a knack of finding quality players at knock-down prices. Desperately need a decent keeper and some consistency. Title capable side with good fanbase. Best stadium in England and great youth players.
All in my opinion, don't take it personally

Arsenal, would pay to watch them. Arsene a top manager in my book.
ManUre, arrogant club with equally annoying fan base. Success based on winning English leage and done f'all in Europe for "Worlds biggest club". I would only have Ronnie in the LFC team.
Chelski. What can I say, 500m spent and two titles and an FA cup. Dull as dishwater to watch. Time will tell, but I cant see them being around when the dirty money has run out.

Arsenal Quality football from their first team but hard to forgive them years of the offside trap and one nil to the Arsenal. Manager has done well with very little money. He also irritates me with his selective blindness
Chelsea Grimly efficient but can't say that I enjoy their style of play now or in the past. £580m...least likable team individuals - Cashley Cole, John Terry & Joe Cole (pinhead brothers), I'll be back Ballack, etc, etc.
No other real competitiors at the moment - certainly not the bin dippers - a classic case of the older they get, the better they were... A spent force with a likeable but out of his depth manager
