I have no idea how they got to that decision. Was around my mates flat with 5 others and we just looked at each other in disbelief. They made it he had such an impressive game. Tbf he didnt play badly but certainly not MOTM.
I think Cole (j obviously) or Rooney were the only two showing any signs of passion and drive. Yes Rooney wasted a lot of chances with poor control but he did a lot of good work and didnt stop trying.

Rooney did a lot of running, tackled well, but ultimately didn't deliver goals.
Bentley and Joe Cole were our best players IMO. Good to see England finally have some decent width.

I was surprised by the choice of man of the match too.
Rooney was immense! I think man of the match should have gone to either him or even Brown, although he did make one mistake and lost the ball but apart from that he put in a solid performance.

Why don't you come down from Planet Utd and try living on Planet Earth? Rooney did well. Brown, well he had a shocker.

comments on england.
there are better right backs than wes brown. (Micah richards)
steven gerrard didn't perform well enough to be awarded motm.
it was david bentley for me. for ability, application and drive.
uspon isn't england quality either. any centre half that can only kick with one foot should never be capped.
david james is the best goalie though. he may misjudge coming of his line on occasion but IMO he's more consistent than paul robinson. he's less likely to have a howler too, as they've already happened to him.
Steven Gerrard for me is the most dynamic midfielder in the p'ship. for ability influence and athleticism. he did not warrant motm though and thats coming from a lifelong red.

However, I can say it made a big differance bringing on Wright-Philips, who last time I checked was a Chelsea player! Joe Cole had a good game too, he left the step overs at home for this game and he put in a good peformance, also setting up a goal. Hes also a Chelsea player I think
Bentley was poor by his standards though.
