Default Mourinho: Chelsea fans are soft, fickle, and don't deserve to win trophies...

Well, perhaps the last two are my own inclusions, but still, I think Mourinho has it spot on:

"Most of the black community are fans of Arsenal, the Jewish community support Tottenham, in the most disadvantaged area of London they’re fans of West Ham, and Fulham are a small club but with a strong nucleus of fans.

"And then comes Chelsea, a cosmopolitan club, with fans famous around the world, like Bryan Adams, Claudia Schiffer and Chelsea, the daughter of former president Clinton.

"And there’s a common denominator among them all – they’re foreigners, which fits in with the general profile of the fan of the club. Whoever is a foreigner and leads a life above the means of the average citizen is a fan of Chelsea because Chelsea have the most expensive tickets, the most expensive meals, their social life around the game is more important than that of other clubs.

"Because they have that spending power, the Chelsea fan is more ‘society’ and, of course, that’s reflected in the stadium, with the support they give the team.

"It’s the soft sort of fan who doesn’t get behind the team a lot, who don’t organise themselves into fan groups, with the cheering on that is characteristic of the image of English football.

"They create a different atmosphere because a lot of our fans also go to the opera, the theatre, other types of shows that don’t lend themselves to lots of shouting. That’s the Chelsea fan.

"That’s why Chelsea have some difficulty in asserting themselves as a great club of English football.”

To be honest, as much as I dislike the bloke, I think I'll miss him now he's gone.

Whilst i agree that there have been people who have latched on to CFC over the last two or three years who are not even football fans let alone true supporters upper west stand normally.
I have to disagree with the fact that there are no true supporters as such, they were there before jose and are there now and as for being vocal it really is a load of b**locks after all i have been to old trafford and it is just as quiet as is the famous kop very often
You only have to watch MOTD to nearly always hear the away support whatever club is at home as they are the hardcore.
As for the typical chelsea fan going to the opera i dont think so!!
As much as i liked jose perhaps there is a tinge of bitterness and i am dissapointed he has that view on the fans who after all shouted his name louder than ever when he left.

Id say Arsenal are the club where all the posh gits go to, not Chelsea. Might have it wrong though.

What complete rubbish if Jose Mourinho did say this then he is just bitter and twisted.Chelsea fans just are just the same as fans from other clubs and like other clubs we get rich hangers on but look at 99% of Chelsea fans and your find that most are working class football fans who never been to a opera.

Mourinho should remember that the same fans he insulted paid for his over the top wages.

But at least we can fill our stadium when we have Champion League matches even though we do have the most expensive tickets

Your attendances are fixed by the club, there is no way you get 60k every week, just watch M.O.T.D and see how many empty seats there are

You think wrong, his wages will have come out of gate receipts, match day packages, sponsorship ect.

Many thanks to you

the attendances are quoted based on the tickets that have been bought. there are empty seats in the club section (middle bit arounf the stadium ) but that is because they are all in the lounges quaffing champagne. trust me, there's no number fiddling going on, look at our financial results!

it is true that arsenal has the black support, the scum have a jewish element, west ham have the east, but he is not right about chelsea, they have a good hardcore of fans that have supported chelsea for years.

Less than 25,000 vs. Rosenberg, was it?

I highly doubt those gate receipts would even cover half of fat Frank's weekly food requirements.

But surely with our "expensive tickets" gate receipts for 25k would be the same as receipts for O.T. being full.

But not a full as short fat Dwayne England "striker" apparently

As long as McLaren has the ***** to have Rooney, Carrick, Hargreaves and Neville (when fit) warming the bench also

Rooney and Hargreaves do have a place in the team to be fair Paul

Carrick and Neville should not be anywhere near the bench, lt alone warming it

I didn't manage to see many United matches whilst abroad, but Carrick's performance against Sporting was sublime. I know I've said it time and time before, but he's one of those players that you either appreciate for what he does (his vision, distribution, availability for passes, etc.) or you don't pick up on what he brings to the team and, subsequently, don't rate him.

However, I'm not quite sure how you can question G Nev's credentials.
