Default Ashley Young, John Carew sign for Villa

Good buys or what

Dont' know much about Young but at £9.65m

Carew Norwegian like Petter
remember him playing in the champions league
good old fashoined centre forward

Glad Baros as gone total waste of money,
but will live in Villa's fans hearts for scoring
against the blues noses

Baros gone was a bloody good thing!

Carew looks 'handy'.. as does the Young fella Hopefully string a few decent results together and get back up the table a wee bit...

altho' *biggest* recent events down at 'the Park' has to be Deadly finally handing control over
remember last time he did that??

European Champions !

*although it WILL be a while before we can claim that 'mantle' again

Looks typical MON to me. Big lump up front to boot it up to with a couple of quick players to feed off the scraps. Makes for entertaining football

Carew looks a good deal but nearly £10m for an unproven player? It makes Andy Johnson and Dean Ashton look bargains.
Baros was shocking on Saturday. Good riddance.
It's been a long time since a striker has fulfilled his potential down at Villa Park. We've spent big money on the likes of Savo, SVC, Angel and Baros and haven't yet seen a 20 goal return out of any of them.

Good strikers are up above a ratio of 0.5. The top strikers above 0.6

Based on those figures he's on 0.357 so quite average you'll find.

Who cares about 0.5 or 0.00035 or what ever crap your talking about..

As long as he is better than Baros ( and lets face it who isnt ) he'll do for me..

It was a straight swap & i would'nt have swapped me old match tickets for Baros let alone an International striker..

Villa fans are deluded. I see you're signing another Celtic old boy. Is this a snide way to get them into the Prem?
