In British football theres never been a better finisher than Ian Rush IMO. People call Robbie Fowler god, yet Rush scored twice as many goals as he did

do you not think that most people will only pick the one who plasys for their own team though
like nugent preston or keane spurs rvn for manu that sort of thing
i could have easily picked rvn or law or even saha the way hes going,

my reason for m v b was when you were young and watching england or whoever and he got the ball and turned round you got that "oh ****" feeling because straight away you knew he was gonna nail it or give it to koeman and hed nail it.

absdolute class what a tragedy he was injured .

another "oh ****" player was klinssmann as well wasnt he.

Alan Shearer, in his day he was the complete striker!

Wouldn't place Koeman in the striker bracket

Shearer for me, with Henry a very close second

Rush scored alot of goals but he wasnt a complete striker imo, he was also at liverpool when they were dominating everything hence he had alot more chance to score than many other strikers

Andy Cole was another class act, scored buckets at the Toon then even more at United. However Alan Shearer would have been the undisputed king if he had turned up at OT.

Ian Rush was class, as was Gary Lineker!!

Shearer

Good hold up player, goal scoring records, done throughout the last 15 years.

For short spells others have been better (many others) but for consistency shearer is surely the only choice.

Ronaldo for example was a better finisher and a more devastating individual player for a few seasons but in this century he's been sporadic.

If you mean who's been the best player in a single season in the last 20 years then that would be Ronaldo circa 1997 imo.

yeah right! the only reason Shearer has a good goal scoring record is cos' most of his goals come from the penalty spot. A true striker, one who finishes and assists is Thierry Henry IMO.

I'm sorry but Henry goes missing for the big games, he also looks poor against sides who battle like Bolton and Wigan.
