Are You Tottenham In Disguise?????
Seems like Pompey have landed Mendes and Davis with Paramot to follow....
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...th/4599630.stm
7.5 million for the 3 players isn't bad IMO, All of them being good players too.
Davis has been very unlucky with injury during his time at Tottenham, suffering a bad Knee injury after only a handful of games,
I feel maybe spurs never saw the best from him
Mendes is a quaility Midfielder and will always be remembered for his "Goal" at old Trafford
Paramot, Pompey fans should already know about having spent a loan period at Fratton park.
Again another player who suffered a bad knee injury and then struggled to get back into the side.
I think you have landed three very good players who have just slipped down the pecking order at
Tottenham due to other signings made, should certainly add a lot to the Pompey squad,
glad we have already played you twice this season now
Lets just hope the Spurs board spend this 7.5 million on another stiker a get rid of Rasiack

The signings haven't finished yet though - we're still after 2 more at least.
Survival was looking a bit touch-and-go with the current squad but with the new additions and more to come, we will be fine.
And I don't consider the new signings to be 'rejects', they were just out of favour due to a combination of injury and new signings at Spuds.

This is what Jol had to say about the so called 'rejects'.
"Pamarot was in the squad all the time, he was always a very good player for me. Mendes is different, he is probably a world-class player but he wasn't playing and he's too good to keep on the bench all the time.”
"Sean Davis wasn't playing so he had some problems with injuries, when he came back he did an awfully good job and I still think he's a terrific player. But, you know, in that area we have a lot of players so sometimes you have to do a deal and it was better for the players.
"They made their choice. If Mendes would have told me he wanted to stay, it would have been fine with me as he's a terrific player.
"Davis, I can't see he didn't get a chance because he was injured. When the team is doing well, you don't like to chop and change all the time.
"He can prove at Portsmouth that he can be a regular."

and quite right I wouldn't class them as rejects but when you have players like
Carrick, Davids, Jeanas, Lennon, Routledge, Reid and Brown in the squad and others out on loan like Huddlestone and Ziegler
its hard to see Davis and Mendes getting a game,
may as well cut the wage bill and let the lads move on and play football.

Pamarot was a liability - pity as he's such a big bugger he looked like a bit of a 2nd Sol Campbell (who incidentally was liability in his last season!)
Mendes was a bit hit & miss (perfect Tottenham player!)
Davis I'm soory to see go, he's a quality player and was hampered by imjuries, but there's so many midfielders now that it was always going to be hard to break into the team - Jenas, Carrick, Tainio, Brown, Ried, Lennon (Lennon For England!) and he must have known his number was up when Davids signed.
Need a new big man up front - Rasiak (sp) isn't up top the job, we sorely missed Mido against Villa.

Hope I never see him wearing a Spurs shirt again
Mind I still think we should look at getting the Mido move sorted now, he has said he doesn't want to go back,
spend the money and secure his future.
Lets just hope Mido comes back injury free from the African Nations Cup
