Excellent News!!

Rafael Benitez has admitted he hopes to secure the services of Real Sociedad midfielder Xabi Alonso before the end of the week.
Alonso is on international duty this evening as Spain take on Venezuela in a friendly, but the Liverpool manager is confident the deal to bring him to Anfield is nearing conclusion.
He said: "Bringing Xabi here will give us more possibilities in the midfield. It will give us more options as we'll have him, Gerrard, Hamann, Diao and Biscan for that position.
"He's a very intelligent midfielder. He's more intelligent than he is physical and he's a great passer of the ball.
"We are close to completing the signing but whether he'll play against Manchester City at the weekend, I'm not sure."

Liverpool have made some good signings lately. Could be challengers this year.

He is rather ruthless is Rafa
El Hadji Diouf signed for Bolton Wanderers on a season long loan.
