.Rafael Benitez is hoping to mould his Liverpool squad into Premiership champions inside the next three years. The Reds manager isn't ruling out the possibility of repeating his success at Valencia where he won the league in his first season at the Mestalla, but he believes a more realistic target would be to target the title in three years time.
"If we work then we can achieve the success we want," he said. "I am here to win trophies and I hope that I will be given the time. In two or three years we want to have achieved the balance in the squad that we need.
"Every coach asks for time and there are things we need to do. But we hope that we can find the balance to move towards the title in the next three years. We have a very strong attack and a good defence and midfield.
"Now we have to look at the players who will strengthen that. It is not about how much money we spend but how well we spend it."
