Formula One driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen has been sacked by the Jordan team.
"The contract between Jordan and Heinz-Harald Frentzen has been cancelled with immediate effect," a company spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

Jordan's third driver Ricardo Zonta will replace Frentzen for the German Grand Prix in Hockenheim this weekend.

Frentzen has scored only six points this season and has been outqualified by team-mate Jarno Trulli nine times in 10 races.

The 34-year-old is currently 11th in the drivers' standings and has not finished in the points since April.

Matters appear to have come to a head at Silverstone last weekend where the 34-year-old German finished seventh.

"It has been a disappointing season for both of us. We had an exchange of views after the British Grand Prix and this is the result," team boss Eddie Jordan was quoted as saying.

Had a beer in the local with a guy who works for Jordan and he said that Frentzen wasn't allowed to do the next round of testing due to his p**s poor attitude. Seems the telemetry from his car told the whole story.
