Spitting
I just saw the spitting incident from Italy V Denmark on Monday night, where Francesco Totti gobbed in Christian Poulsen's face from point blank range after a bit of "handbags at 20 paces"
Now as many of you are aware, I'm a copper and have been assaulted at work on numerous occassions, and this is frequently with "people" spitting at you. (I use the term "people" loosely!)
It is a vulgar, cowardly disgusting act to carry out, and in my opinion Totti should be fined and suspended from playing any more games in the competition.
It is the upmost sign of contempt and disrespect for a fellow "professional" and much more should be expected of an "idol" earning hundreds of thousands of pounds a week.
To$$er.

Spitting is pure filth. It is pretty much the ultimate act of disrespect and like jerome I would explode if it happened to me. I have respect talizman - all the training in the world wouldnt stop me from spraying him with mace, before handcuffing him and introducing him to an extendable truncheon (errrr - I know what I mean) - he'd be eating through a straw put it that way.
As for totti - what a prat - one of the greatest players in the world - he should be banned for the rest of the competition - but no - theyre too focussed on whether someone claiming to be an england 'football fan' threw a bottle or two...Suddenly off the pitch matters more than on?
God bless UEFA???!!! hmmm

I agree totally about the spitting habit, it must be really nasty to get some tosser do that to you when you are trying to restrain him.
It is a filthy habit and I wish they would stop sportsmen from doing it while they are playing and setting such a poor example to younger fans. It is really totally unecessary, I know that very well from my own rugby playing days and as someone said it can spread unpleasant diseases. I am fed up of seeing young lads hawking up all over the pavement almost as though it is an unbreakable habit.

3 games is a **** take - he can play again in the comp if they make it to the semis. Should have been banned from the entire comp IMHO.
