Wakeboarding
#1
had a go at wakeboarding today and it was real fun even though I didn't manage to stand up once for more than 1 second...
had a real good time and will go again.
anyone with any good tips for beginners as it look pretty impressive when someone is doing it?

Its all about balance. Its a lot easier to get up and go if your leaning back as you can take the strain a bit easier when the boat takes up the slack on your tow (but dont lean back completely as you will probably just fall back).
Get used to how the board reacts to your movements before trying to showboat and jump the wake (leave that for the end of your tow).
Its a great sport - wish I had kept at it after leaving Cyprus where it was £1 a tow
Simon.

bloody cold this time of the year
getting started
get comfy in the water
knees bent draw the towards your chest
rope over the middle of the board
point your toes forward towards the boat board should be square to the boat
HIT IT
as the rope tightens board turns to chosen side
(chosen side stand with your feet shoulder width apart get someone to give you a shove in the back which ever foot jerks forward is your chosen side)
dont let the board stay flat against the water or you will make a wall of water and hurt your fingers
toes forward to make an angle
does`ent matter if the board goes under the water a few inches it will pop up
STAY LOW COME UP SLOW
once your up 60% on the back foot 40 on the front
lower you hold the handle the better
at the hip is the best but you will find this hard
try for nipple height, arms straight knees bent
and your riding.
good luck
