Ok gotya..
Thanks for that.
Glentress is miles away from Abdn though, although it's probably worth it. Anywhere else a bit further north?

We could do somewhere up north like Fort William, or something. Guess it depends what the spread of interested people are.

Oh, and I've got the helmet-cam working now, and initial results look pretty good. We're going to take it out on Thursday night and get footage of all the downhills/singletrack on the Red Route. If it's good, I'll post some of it up here (or distribute some high-res versions on CD ).

Queens Forest which is in the Trossachs may be a better bet as it's a bit more central

I've heard only good things about it but haven't actually cycled there so anybody on here with any info would be cool

On the other hand I'm more than happy to travel and maybe we could make it a Saturday cycle then camp and have a BBQ and bring the old acoustic guitars then either cycle/recover and head home Sunday to break the drive up a bit ?

Just an idea..... but I'm up for whatever the majority wants to do

Cheers
Si

Wink

Sleep in the car then..!
Fort William kind of area sounds good. I've never biked around there though, so couldn't suggest where to go. Any ideas?

There's a whole new downhill section up there Franx.. but not really my idea of fun More of a cross country/climbing plodder

Sure there'll be good routes around about though....

Anyway, Fort William suits me and anywhere that's far enough away from Glentress...... Glentress is populated more like Oxford Street on a Saturday afternoon now

<Pslewis mode on>
I remember the days when you seldom met another mountain biker in Glentress<>

Fort William then?
Anyone?
- although I won't be able to do that for the next few weeks, coz I've got exams until the 26th. In fact, I'll be in Oban after that, and it isn't that far away from Fort Will, is it??. not with a car, anyway.

Cool

Glentress is pretty quiet in the week though.

Out of interest, whilst Fort William sounds nice, it's a fair old journey from here for me (and SiPie). Perhaps we should work out where's geographically central to cut the journey for everyone, rather than all have to traven 150 miles for this?

I'll probably be going down that way - although I might be in Oban, so don't take my word for it just yet. It seems likely though.

You got a bike rack?
