If more people signed up...location might be less of a problem. Just that at the moment, we're hovering between Telford, Aberdeen, Perth (I thought you were in Dundee Cerian??) and Bedfordshire. I'd suggest more than one meet - a Scotland one, a NW one etc. What do we think?

location is the problem due to the size of intrest around the country
i live in Telford, Shropshire

I love to ride but Scotland is probably pushing it a bit (at least if I want the missus to still speak to me when I get back!)

I agree that we need to do regional rides as a starter.

Count me in for a Southern one. Could manage Wales but never been to the frozen wastes of Scotland and no plans to do so in the near future Shame as I hear the rides are good up there

Definitely up for this (I've replied to the 'Scotland Ride' thread too). You know where I'm going to suggest we go.

If people are interested in coming to Glentress, we could make it the same weekend as the International Downhill competition at Innerleithen, and watch a bit of that too.

Sorry to be thick, but where's Innerliethen?
Glentress? Both borders?

That would be easy enough.
What do people think?

Glentress is in the Borders, about 3 miles from Peebles. Info here. Innerleithen is a couple of miles down the road, and they've got the European DH championship course there which might be good to watch some action on.

Check out the British Cycling website:
o National XC & DH: August 16-17 Innerleithen
o International DH: June 1 Fort William, Scotland
o Scotland DH: April 13 Innerleithen

Nice one. Sounds good to me...
See what response we get off the SCOTTISH SCOOBYNET RIDE!!!! thread. That International DH one would be good for me anyway.
What kind of rides are to be had around there? (of the bike kind, I mean!!!)
singletrack, forest etc?

Singletrack, forest, lots of really good stuff. For a taster, see the video we made a few weeks ago.

Talking

That looks pretty damn good, from what I could see. Took me about 10 tries to get it to work . I'll just reply to the Scotland ride thread from now on...

Wink

We are talking about mountain biking here, aren't we?!
I'm up for it - but where?
I'd suggest Scotland, but it ain't that handy for Shropshire! Just see who replies, and take the location from there?
