What on earth was he trying to do ?
Watched the replay - he had plenty of time - I think he must have had a bet on Arsenal - it's the only logical reason
Anyway - pretty dull match - but at least the right team won

I was at long last able to get my revenge on sometime. I have been subjected to pi$$taking text messages from a Man U fan during L'pool's loss of form. It felt sooooooooo good sending a text message after todays result

Ronnie Rosenthal eat your heart out. What a contrast to that goal he scored in the semi final a few years back. I wouldn't mind being paid what he gets paid to miss an open goal - ha, bloody ha.
The **** were brilliant today, showed Scum how to play football, there passing was a masterclass and Pires is one hell of a player. Quite a result in that Scum ended up hoofing the ball around the pitch, something often said out LFC. Don't worry Scum, you've still got the worthless cup to aim for. That Ruud was a disgrace - can he not stand up ?

My dog could've got that ball in the net from there Oh how we laughed...
What a fine display of footballing at it's best
Retribution indeed and now I hope I NEVER have to see the awful sight of Gigg's disgusting hairy chest as he removes his top seconds after scoring THAT goal on tv ever again

Ash1, Is there a need to use the word "SCUM" like you're about to die??, besides Giggs has been **** for years and should go and play for Liverpool or Leeds
Best team won.
Man Utd will still win the other 3 trophies

Hehe it does make me chuckle. The seasons high for 'pool fans is seeing Man Utd being beaten. If you spent more time worrying about your own tean than what we do then u might actually get somewhere.

Alan - don't shoot the messenger matey, its a common reference.
P1F - chuckle ? tell you what chuckle is. Chuckle is watching missing an open goal and his manager saying it was his bad foot. Chuckle is watching a masterclass of total football from the **** and watching ManUre oofing the ball around. Chuckle is the irony of red nose saying the ref was intimidated by the opposition players (ref D'Urso being flattened by Mad Man Keane & Co). Chuckle is when you play weak teams for a decade in the Worthless Cup and then you want to win it (when you realised you haven't won anything the year before). Laugh, I nearly cried.

No you ABU'ers definitely make the most chuckles. You get yourselves so worked up about what another team gets up to. If we had have won 2-0 and wiltord missed a sitter Im sure you would have been on here getting all het up about Arsenal *cough* bollocks *cough*.
Its not like we didnt have our chances (other than Giggsys slender miss ). U neglect to mention Solskjears shot off the post, Beckhams deflection that allowed Arsenal to score their opener.
The fact that your team has done the square root of f*ck all for another season justs adds to your rage. Every Neutral Ive spoken to at work says they really enjoyed the match.
As for not playing weak teams in the Worthington Cup, I suggest you go back and check the teamsheets and come back with some facts, as I dont call Carroll, May, O'Shea, Chadwick, Stewart, Pugh, Forlan, Fortune and Nardiello first choice players. Once getting to the Quarters and getting a tie with Chelsea it was pretty much expected that we would play our best line up.
As for Fergie - agreed he talked bollocks about giggs foot and arsenal crowding the ref (they did but no more than we did). I admit that but its not like hes the first manager to spout crap about a game - ffs its a weekly occurence in this sport.
Simon.

Alan - I only mentioned it three times, I am cutting back believe me.
P1F - you sound as p1ssed off as Red Nose. As for winning trophies, we won 2 last season (season 2001-2002), the Charity Shield and European Super Cup. Or are they deemed 'Worthless' too.

Nope Im not pissed of at all. I just think its pretty ironic how much time u spend posting about man utd when u support pool.
I would rate the Charity Shield as about as much worth as a testimonial but hey its still a trophy. The Supercup I forgot about so yep I got that wrong.
The Worthless is the least prestigous/respected trophy but at the end of the day its still a cup and anyone who says they wouldnt want to win it just cost its the worthless is IMHO lying out of their ****.

My sarcasm may have been a little over the top.
But nevertheless, my point is that the miss was so bad that he might as well have been aiming for anything BUT the goal.
(Okay, it was an excuse to get the word corner in a post that happened to be a corner post. ) (Yeah, yeah, it's a muppet thang. )
