I'm a bit gutted - I really like Taylor, he's amazing.
Part seems a genuinely nice guy though, deservedly ranked 2 in the world, and played awesome tonight...
There was something missing from Taylors game tonight though - well, apart from the 11 legs he strung together in the middle!
Great game.

Taylor is a class darts player - 10 on the bounce and an average of nearly a 100 was it ? But credit to Part, he put Taylor under pressure, soemthing thats not happened for ages in a final and he came back very well.
Also managed to catch the Madrid / Valencia game between the breaks, that was a decent game too !
Overall a good days sport.....I even managed to get off the sofa and do some shopping too...

Thought he was pretty gracious in defeat - mind you he must be pretty pissed off winning it every year. Had a dig at the Iceman Warriner too - that was good. He's lost a lot of weight but surprisingly hasn't affected his form.

Taylor had been pretty average all week, at 5-4 to Taylor I thought 7-4 but no, Well done Steak Canadian and well done Power for a cracking night of entertainment
Sid Waddell, stop making excuses for Phil Taylor, you embarass yourself and SKY Sports, balance indeed

Taylor isn't finished by any means. When he strung them 11 legs together in the middle of the game, he was at his very very best. He will be back.
I think Part is the only player at the moment who can consistently give him a hard time. Alright there are quite a few who are very capable of beating Taylor, but Part is the only one who can match him nearly every time thay play now...
There also aren't many who could have sustained Part's form for, basically, the whole match of a 13 setter, give or take the few legs in the middle, but that was Taylors brilliance more than anything Part did wrong...

Agree Part was never phased by Taylor. Swin - you r really paranoid dude, I didn't know Warriner was a Utd fan, but now that u mentioned it, he did take a thumping from Taylor.
Anyway, what does the PDC World Champion mean, there's the Embassy going on too. I know there was a break away some years back, but isn't this Part win diluted by the mere fact that there is another World Championship taking place ? Therefore he is only 1/2 a world champion...

Pontificating
I was going to post re Taylors earing and hair but what about his face, I swear he's had some work done, look at the eyes where have the bags gone?? and he looks like he's wearing eyeliner!!
Still Bristow did the same thing, highlites and all that.
Fantastic Darts though.

The PDC is far better than the Embassy in my opinion. The coverage alone, with all matches live on Sky, is absolutely streets ahead of BBC's pathetic coverage of the Embassy. The PDC players' status is of huge benefit from Sky's coverage and many are household names for anyone even remotely interested in darts, whilst most Embassy players remain unknowns...
I think all the players in the PDC are pro's, whilst the other organisation, who's name escapes me at the moment (BDO I think) is mainly part timers, they have all got main jobs...
Standard wise, there's hardly anything in it, Taylor apart of course! Taylor played Barneveld (1998/1999 Embassy champion) a while ago in a 1 hour match and hammered him, but then again it was Taylor!
The two organisations don't get on. One funny thing is that Part usually plays in the PDC tournament, and then goes and commentates on the Embassy tournament! In fact, after winning the PDC last night, he is commentating on the Embassy today! Bizarre!
