Hi all,

have seen a STI boot lid and spoiler assembly for sale and am hoping to grab it. However I've just been for a look at the lock assembly on mine and can't see how you get to it to swap on to the new lid. Does anyone have any ideas???

There is a plate which holds the lock in place. You can slide the plate off with some brute force and fit it into your new boot lid. I've taken mine out and installed a reversing camera in its place.

Cool cool, I see a couple of bolts....are they the only ones that hold the assembly on??

''UPDATE'' Tried fitting the new boot and spoiler today, had no problems until it got to putting the existing lock in......it would appear in my hast to buy the boot lid I didn't check if it was a new age lock (square fit) or a bug eye lock (circle fit!) Doh!?! So just been on the phone to my local scooby dealer and luckly its only 40 squid for a bug eye lock, fingers crossed everything else will work! Pics up soon.

Make sure you have a before and after and did you get one with no spoiler too?

Cheers Russ! I'll make sure to get some pic's up when I change it over, again!!! lol. Just back from the scoob dealer, lock ordered so fingers crossed they send the right part!

Is the boot a different shade, or does the bumper just need cleaning

Its more likely the bumper needs cleaning, not had a chance to do it in a while where as the lid and spoiler have had the polish treatment.
