SE Dorset traffic surveys
Just received this email (unfortunately not a funny one )
From 22 Apr to 5 June - typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays - around 30 roadside interview surveys are taking place right across the Poole/ Bournemouth/ Christchurch area. Due to the nature of these surveys it is likely that some queuing and delays will be generated. These surveys are being done for the SE Dorset Transport Study on behalf of the all 3 Local Council's. As lead authority Borough of Poole has set up a dedicated phone line to receive messages on 01202 265260 - this is a recorded service which enables the public to leave a message for the Project team - ideally any enquiries should be directed to this number or advised to look at the website South East Dorset Transport Study or email sedorset.transport@poole.gov.uk
The key message is "Sorry if you've been delayed or inconvenienced today but the information given by you in these interviews is vital to our understanding of travel patterns across the South East Dorset area, in order that we may plan better for future developments and transport schemes over the next 2 decades." One of the key issues is that we can't give out any specific information on the dates or location of surveys to avoid any possible mass diversions skewing the collected data.
I'd be most grateful if you could raise awareness of the surveys amongst your staff or customers. If appropriate please provide a link from your website to the SE Dorset Transport Study WebPages South East Dorset Transport Study plus any other ideas you may have.
Also I've attached a simple poster in MS Word format which you may wish to use on various noticeboards around your organisation [although I appreciate this may be of limited use!].
Please don't hesitate to contact Rick Clayton if you have any further queries.
