Reading Jap meet
Hello all.
Thought i would come over and introduce myself.
Im a member of Admin from teamshock and have just been asked to take over the Reading Jap meet thats been running for a few years now as a monthly event.
I get on well with Michael (Def) who started the meets. Since Def stopped organising the meets due to being tied up with other things the meets have gone down hill with low attendance and not quite the same freindley atmosphere as they had when Def was hoasting them.
I have organised various things in the past and im going to try my best to re-create what used to be a blinding meet.
Hopefully with support from clubs such as yourself the meets will get back on track again and now that the weather is warming up what better excuse to get out there and show off the motor.
The style of meet wont change at all its still a stictly Jap only static meet. Im currently getting an online flyer created and will post up more details when i get it.
Also if anyone has a cool pic of there motor they dont mind being used as the image on the flyer can you stick it up please?
Cheers guys.

mmmmmm bad start if you ask me
the first meet that was held when def left it was on the coldest day of the year
still about 40 odd cars came
the second meet was getting better 70 odd cars came
dont know how you can say it was going down hill
still i guess you will do better

not sure what meet you went to then mate but the last 4 or 5 months there definatly havent been anywhere near 40 cars let alone 70.
Think the biggest its been latley was the last meet and that was probley about 20ish cars there. Even the guy im taking it on for will tell you the same.
It definatly went down hill attendance wise all the clubs dropped out because it stopped getting promoted via the jap clubs.

"i cant count then"
Definatly not if you think that there has been between 40 and 70 cars at the meets latley.
"and who are you taking it on from then, also are you putting this on sidc"
Whast sidc? im putting it on as many jap owners clubs as i can.

I was under the impression it was Ant organising it, you seem to have a bit of a problem with me trying to get the meet running again whats up?
You just admited yourself that neither of you have had the time to sort the meet thats probley why the meets not been as big as it used to be even in the colder months.

The meet last month was friendly, it was a very good turn-out.
FFS, even the Evo owners and Impreza owners were talking to each other
If you want this to be as big as last year you definitely need to get the SIDC (Subaru Impreza drivers club) involved, as they`ve always had a huge contingent at the Reading meets and have often dominated it. Try www.sidc.co.uk.

3rd Tuesday would be good as the Hants area Scooby meet is on the 2nd Monday of each month - which led nicely into the following week and a blast up to Reading - whereas the day after would be a bit too much

it more than likley will be the 3rd Tuesday as i want one sorted soon but 1 week isnt long enough to get it sorted.
