Cool

Given that Scoobies are now almost as common as Mondeos in Swindon , is anyone up for a meeting here? (You don't have to come from Swindon though )

I am thinking of Saturday 12th May, meeting at lunch time, with an afternoon drive along some of the more interesting Cotswold roads, meeting back at the pub later on if people want. If there is enough interest I will organise a Car Treasure Hunt taking in some interesting sites (to interest any other halves)...

I know a likely pub with a large safe car park, but need an indication of numbers to get the go ahead from the landlord.

Let me know what you think...

Hi all in the Swindon area!

We are running track days at Wroughton near Swindon. But please don't confuse us with any other track day operator - we are Motorsport Events Limited!

We ran a day last thursday on April 19th and the circuit was over 2 miles long with a top speed possible of 130 mph on the long straight.

We will always take the time and trouble to set up the full circuit that I designed and will always have clear direction arrows, brake boards and chevron signs! We also had no problem with the foot and mouth crisis and were allowed to have outside caterers in on the day etc.

We also gave away a good driving manual booklet and various other bits and pieces. Plus the day was properly marshalled and everyone had loads of track time!

All this for £89. The next day is on May 24th and we are taking bookings now on 0870 787 2116 or email me at:

ed@motorsport-events.co.uk

I only want to run track days of the highest quality even when we charge such a modest entrance fee!

Take care.

Just to confirm, its Saturday 12th May we're looking to. I will check with the pub and publish some directions.

Bob / Steve, how many from the SW group are likely to pop along?

Cheers,
Nick

Hi Peeps,
The location will be the Manor Farm Pub, Haydon Wick, North Swindon. It has a large car park and the landlord will be happy to have us there.

I will post a Street Map link shortly.

It is easy to find being 5 mins from the A419 Turnpike Roundabout (North off Junction 15 M4). Turn into Swindon at the Turnpike, and take the Right Hand turn at the traffic lights. Keep straight on till you reach the Asda / Walmart development site and Turn Left. Go right at the next roundabout, and the Manor Farm is just past the traffic lights on the Left Hand Side.

Meet after 12:30.

Is there interest in the Treasure Hunt before I spend time putting it together???
