Cambridgeshire meet, Wed 31st Jan
#1
Anyone up for a Cambridgeshire meet on Wed 31st Jan (i.e. a week tomorrow)?
Rather than the usual Fen Ditton one, I propose going to The Royal Oak at Barrington (about 8 miles SW of Cambridge down the A10) as this gives the N. London lot a chance to come up too.

I would imagine I'll be there first, pretty much at 7:30pm prompt, as I'll go straight from work. Let's just say that the first one there waits in the car, then that's easier.
For those meeting us inside, I shall be wearing blue shirt (no tie), black Chinos and black shoes, and answer to the name of Richard The pub isn't likely to be busy at that time on a Wed anyway.
Cheers

Thanks for coming along chaps - particularly given the weather. Hope we didn't annoy too many of the natives with our stereo comparisons!
Found out a few things driving home in the thick fog:
1) Grahame is fast in his Sport (though I knew that anyway )
2) Fog lights don't really help all that much when it's really thick
3) Blue-tinted PIAAs are better than yellowy-tinted normal lights
4) Driving in fog really isn't fun. Roll on summer!
See you at the next one...

Richard,
I saw you trying your lights on the M11 on the way back - do the blue PIAA bulbs make a big difference? Unfortunately, I've lost Stan's e-mail re:these bulbs. Where did you get yours from? I assume they don't overload the existing wiring?

Hope I didn't dazzle you! The PIAA "Superwhites" make a big difference in general (contrary to the AutoExpress recent test for some reason) - Stan has these - but I went for the blue-tinted ones because they throw a light which I find picks out detail better and is better long-range. I got them from Auto Performance Products (http://www.a-pp.com/PIAA/index.html) - can't remember exactly how much they were now. However, note these bulbs are not CE marked - which they don't tell you until you open the box Still, I put them in anyway, but I'll look more carefully next time!
Cheers
