Guys & girls,
Now I know a few were interest in coming down to spectate and try and blag rides in the cars that are going to be on the track that day... so, from what I can see the paddock opens at 9am and closes at 4pm..
And for those taking part, we need to be there by 8am ish...
Tony needs to leave at 6-6:30am ish, which is quite early, but also means the roads will be quite quiet..
So hows about a meet-up at the Drive Thru MacDonalds at 6:15am (Tony is this ok for you too?) to leave shortly (no later than 6:30) after... the MacDs in question is the one just off the A331 on the Farnborough exit (not north camp) in a retail park (halfords, comet etc..)..
Whos comin'???
Cheers, Alex

Hi Alex
Speaking as one of the potential blaggers, thats a tad early for me!
I'll meet you all down there, I just hope they'll let me in the paddock.
cheers

Jay m A - cool mate, see you down there..
One thing, if wanna blag, there may be some spare crash helmets, but if you bring one with you it would be easier (and you wont have to put up with the previous occupants sweat! )...
cheers, Alex
Also, note the day is shared between bikes & cars (alternating sessions i believe) so it is unclear how many sessions (of 5 cars each go) will go out over the course of the day..
I'll bring some spare disclaimers...
Oh, and I may be in a P1, but its my first track day, so be gentle

Excellent!
Right see you then, then..
Sorted out my lid yesterday, bought one monday, got it home and found that the production date was over 2yrs ago.. went back to Motorcycle city, they swapped it for another one with minimum fuss, after I said the works Track days only!..
Got a lovely Arai one, in titanium (same as the P1 alloys!! )..
Just need a bike now! See you at the weekend! I'll be there on or before 6.15, do they open at 6am for breakfast @ MDs, hope so...

Note.
Something that came up in another thread basically is, those that pop along the likely hood of blagging a passenger go is possibly low, the main reason for coming should be to watch and meet some new scoob owners..
It is unclear how many sessions we will get between 9-4, so for example, I cant guarantee anyone a place in my car, as certainly the first session will be me on my own getting used to the track and the way of driving (first time, track-virgin ).
Hope this clarifys things.. cheers, Alex

Alex, if we're in different sessions I will happily show you the basic lines the instructor showed me around the circuit - not claiming to be any kind of expert though, so if any more experienced people around then please use them.
Definitely worth it rather than trying to guess the lines.

Alex,
It's probably best to take an old hand around with you on your first few laps rather than go it alone. That way you will learn much more quickly. You just need to find a victim, sorry volunteer, to sit alongside and give you some good advice.
I think that the best advice for your first track day is to remain smooth initially and don't worry about entering the corners quickly because that's where you're most likely to lose it. It only requires a small amount of common sense to keep it on the grey stuff.

Tony Q - cheers, sounds like a good idea, i got my tracking done today (after that pot hole) car feels a lot better now, it was 3mm out on the front.
Trigger - that would be great if your not on the same time as me, cheers mate.

Congratulations Alex! It seems that you have your first victim. I'll make sure that you're in a different group to Trigger (Sorry Trigger ).
Does anyone else have any preferences as to who they would like to run with (or away from - discretion is assured )? Although if the weather stays like this, I think that the Scoobs will have plenty of time to play together on an open track

Cheers Tony...
Guys I will need your opinion at the weekend, as to whether my P1 spoiler matches my P1 colour wise, its looks to be a different shade of blue, but want to make sure, several have commented already!
Cheers, Alex

Alex,
You had better sort out breakfast before you leave Maccy D's don't open until 07:00. And yes, I did have to go and ask specially. Anyone feeling tired yet, Richard?
The day is approaching rapidly now Alex The forecast is for unsettled weather throughout the day.

Tony - I know, my productivity at work has reached an all time low, been preparing for the weekend all week! cant wait.. and the weather looks to be in our favour for tomorrow.. excellent!
Ronaldo - if the boxster is anything like the mx5 in aero dynamics, you'll be able to keep the roof down all day, as long as you keep if above 50mph all day!! reminds me of a film...

Good news!
There'll be food available at the circuit from 07:30. Also, there's a Sainsburys 1 mile away that sells super unleaded at 86.9. Pumps 4 and 6 are the ones to head for. There are others (low numbers) but you have to pull the hose across the car - or pull a handbrake turn! Worse news is that my car failed a noise test today despite assurances that no Impreza would have a problem. Not to worry, I'm cobbling together a fix right now. I knew that a misspent youth hanging around rally friends' garages would come in handy.
